Honest comparison
We make ours. A lot of brands don't.
No names — just the difference between a ring made by hand in our shop and the kind you see all over big online catalogs.
| Ring + Grove co | Typical catalog brand | |
|---|---|---|
| Who makes the ring | We make every ring by hand in our workshop. | A lot of brands order rings overseas in bulk and resell them. |
| How it's built | Bentwood — thin veneers steamed and wrapped around a core, shaped on the lathe, finished by hand. | Often drilled out of a solid block of wood. |
| Who you talk to | The people building your ring — Jeff, Bethany, our workshop. | Customer service reps, not the maker. |
| When it's made | Made to order after you buy. Usually 2–3 weeks. | Often already sitting in a warehouse, or shipping from overseas. |
| The wood | Whisky barrel oak, rosewood, maple — materials we pick and use ourselves. | Generic stock wood, sometimes stained to look fancier than it is. |
Every ring is steamed, wrapped around a core, shaped on the lathe, and finished by hand — no factory line, no CNC. Bentwood means the grain runs all the way around instead of being cut through, so the ring holds up to daily wear. That's how we've made 15,000+ rings over 10+ years.
